What is Football?
Football is an outdoor game played
between two teams. Each team tries
to score a goal against the other by
kicking a spherical ball with the foot.
The first official international football
match was played on the 30th of
November, 1872, between England and
Scotland. It was held in Scotland at
West of Scotland Cricket Club's ground.
Football is played in almost all parts of the world.
As a result, there are many varieties of football.
The most popular one is called association football,
commonly known as soccer. It is also the most
popular sport in the world.

The largest attendance for a football match ever
was 199,854 people in a World Cup match between
Brazil and Uruguay on July 1950.

Origins
The earliest records of a game resembling
football are documented in a Chinese military
manual dated second and third century B.C. At
that time it was a form of exercise for the Chinese
soldiers known as cuju which means 'kick ball'.
